Meet The Management Team

Frontier Packaging is led by an experienced, seasoned and well-established management team. Our team focuses on providing strong leadership and maintaining a profitable company, while working toward expansion into new markets.

Rod Meussner


Since joining the company in 1990, Rod has been instrumental in driving and managing the growth of Frontier Packaging and sustaining its profitability. He started with the company as Vice President of Sales, managing both customer and supply relationships, while managing sales growth, and facilitating expanded markets and products. As President he continues to foster an environment of profitable growth and dedication to market leadership by ensuring that the company is providing specific markets with innovative products and knowledgeable, responsive services and solutions.

Prior to joining Frontier, Rod was in Sales Management for Willamette Industries in the Pacific Northwest specializing in the Alaskan seafood Industry. Rod is also the current President of the Northwest Forum, a 61-year-old business organization, and is a University of Washington graduate.

Dennis O'Donnell

Executive Vice President, Strategy and New Business Development

Since joining the company in 1988, Dennis has held positions in Sales, Sales Management and most recently as Vice President. Early in his career, Dennis set the tone for the company’s sales and sales group, and established many of the company’s largest accounts. He led the development of most of the company’s product lines and suppliers, pioneered new packaging applications and has managed several key divisions. Company sales during his tenure have increased substantially. Prior to joining Frontier Packaging, Dennis was a Product Manager at Cargill, Inc. from 1982 to 1987. He is a 1980 graduate of Oregon State University with a B.S. degree in Business/Marketing.

John Merritt

Vice President of Sales

Since joining the company in 2000, John has served in various positions, always with an emphasis in sales. Currently, John is responsible for the management of a dynamic team of sales representatives, and the implementation of new company initiatives. John’s prior experience includes a sales role with Xpedx, an IP-owned company, selling packaging to agricultural markets in Eastern Washington.

Peter Margitan


Peter has more than 35 years of experience in accounting, and has been with Frontier for 15 of those years. Peter’s vast experience spans across public accounting, seafood, and packaging industries. He manages all financial matters for the company as well as supervises the MIS department. Pete’s vast knowledge of the seafood industry and product packaging makes him a valuable team member at Frontier. Pete enjoys the daily excitement of working with a dedicated team in a challenging industry.

Catherine Carmella

Vice President, Operations

Catherine has been instrumental in building Frontier’s business from the very start. She was the first employee to join Frontier Packaging in 1986. Currently, Catherine leads the organization’s operations by directing and coordinating activities company-wide. She manages each element of operations to ensure the company is meeting established goals, objectives and policies, and she provides direction and structure for production.

In addition, Catherine directs and coordinates human resource management activities for Frontier Packaging to maximize the strategic skills of the team, and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment and personnel policies.
